This was such a fun, heartfelt romance that had me grinning from the start. Beg, Borrow, or Steal delivers a classic enemies-to-lovers setup with sharp banter, genuine emotion, and sizzling chemistry between its leads.
Emily Walker has always found Jack Bennett insufferable—from their chaotic college days to their years as feuding coworkers. So when Jack moves back to town, newly single and into the house next door, Emily is ready to make his life difficult. But when her secret side gig as a romance author is accidentally exposed, she finds herself turning to the last person she expected for help.
I loved the flirty scenes and the banter between Emily and Jack—snappy, clever, and full of tension. Their back-and-forth had me laughing out loud at times and swooning at others. Watching their dynamic shift as they started letting each other in felt both satisfying and emotionally grounded. Jack turns out to be way more than just the cocky nemesis—he’s thoughtful, supportive, and has a golden heart underneath all the teasing. And Emily? Strong, stubborn, and secretly soft—she was such a relatable heroine.
By the time I reached the end, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. The characters felt so real and their journey so satisfying, I could’ve happily stayed in their world a little longer. If you’re into small-town charm, rival teachers, and slow-burn tension with plenty of heat and heart, this one’s a great pick. I’m giving it a solid 4.5 stars and already counting down to the release of Adam’s next book with James and Madison!
