I finally got around to reading Dating Dr. Dil, and I’m so glad I did! I totally missed the bandwagon when it first came out a few years back, and I was definitely feeling the FOMO. The story follows Kareena Mann, who dreams of a love story like her parents but prefers restoring her classic car to swiping right on dating apps. When her father announces he’s selling her mother’s home, Kareena makes a deal with him: if she can get engaged in four months, he’ll gift her the house. Her plans take a hit when her argument with Dr. Prem Verma, host of The Dr. Dil Show, goes viral, making him the last person she wants in her life.
On the other hand, Dr. Prem Verma is focused on building a local community health center and needs donors to make it happen. After the viral spat with Kareena leaves his plans in jeopardy, Kareena’s meddling aunties come up with a solution: if he convinces Kareena he’s her soulmate, they’ll fund his clinic. Despite their conflicting views on love matches versus arranged matches, the more time Prem spends with Kareena, the more he starts to believe she could be the one for him.
I loved the cute romance between Prem and Kareena, and the spice level was just right—not too much, not too little. It struck the perfect balance for a romance novel. Watching them go from adversaries to partners was such a joy! I’m thrilled I finally gave this one a chance!
