“Falling in love with yourself is ten times harder than falling in love with someone else, especially when I don’t like myself very much.”
Callahan Kane and his childhood sweetheart, Alana, find themselves fighting over the deed to the family lake house whilst also fighting their animal passion for each other in this sizzling finale in the Dreamland Billionaires series. For Cal to claim his inheritance, he was tasked with spending a summer at the family lake house before selling it. The request was simple in theory until his entire plan blew up on the very first day. Turns out Alana doesn’t just live at the house, but she claims to own it, too.
This one was definitely the best in the series. Rowan and Declan, I hope you’re embarrassed, your younger brother has more brain cells and less daddy issues than both of you combined. Alana was a slay, Zahra and Iris can’t relate and don’t even hod a candle to her. This book showed it all. Friends to lovers, second chance romance and finding yourself. This story was beautiful and emotional. Call’s healing journey and his struggle with addiction were so powerful to read. I experienced every feeling. I was angry with Cal, then with Lana, then I hurt for both, then I was happy, then mad again, then sad again, then happy.
I rated this novel four stars. The love story and the ending for me was perfect. It was definitely the best in the series, though I didn’t *love* this series. It was an okay series overall. The ending was written very well regarding tying up the loose end of the Kane’s dipshit dad Seth. Without spoiling anything, it was very satisfying how Asher pulled the brothers together in one last wish of their dead grandfather’s to make an important choice together. I think how they each acted fit their personalities well and stayed true to their character development.
