This is a cute, feel good romance in the typical Jimenez romance style. I was rooting for their coupling hard in this one! And anyone sitting near me while reading this would have heard me going “AWWW” multiple times.

This is the Good Luck Chuck of books! Justin is on a streak of dating women then they meet the love of their lives. He takes to Reddit to discuss this curse and his post becomes popular.

Emma is a traveling nurse who doesn’t get close to anyone. Her and her BFF travel together but she doesn’t form any attachments. She sees Justin’s reddit post and realizes he has a similar problem to hers. So they decide to take a job in Minnesota and end up in a cute cottage in a little island that they have to get to by boat. Emma thinks that maybe dating Justin a few times will help with her own curse.

She doesn’t expect to like Justin so when they go on a few dates and she meets his family and learns what tough things have been thrown his way she starts to have feelings for Justin. But then, she gets a surprise visit from her absent mother and things go haywire. Her mom is unreliable at best. Things turn chaotic. Emma wonders if she should really be leaning on Justin. He was just supposed to be a summer fling to break the curse.

This one had such great character development. I read this and couldn’t stop caring about what was going to happen to each character (well…maybe not the mom). The Toilet King references where just funny and had me picturing and googling what fans thought it looked like. This was such a real feeling romance. Abby Jimenez is always a MUST READ for me. And the Minnesota setting is the cherry on top for this South Dakota girl. If you are a romance fan, you HAVE to read this one!
