This is book #1 of The Windy City series. This was a hockey story about Zanders and Stevie. I read this book because I had someone wanting me to paint the edges of this one for them so I had to know what all the fuss was about. This is a typical hockey romance novel.
I liked Stevie but the author was portraying her as a wild girl and I just wasn’t getting that feeling. I liked the writing style. Even was Stevie was unsure of herself, she still owned her body. I liked her choice in outfits when she wasn’t working. She wasn’t the cookie cutter flight attendant either.
Zander was another story. I wanted to like him more than I did. I thought he was a little more immature that I thought he should be. He did try to be flirty, even if it was in a very juvenile way at first. I felt like his character did grow so there was that.
This was a boy doesn’t wanna like girl, girl doesn’t wanna like boy, but they both start falling for each other. The banter was cute. I mostly enjoyed this book. I did feel like this could have been 100 pages shorter.
