“I could reach the rank of Maven, lead armies of dark wielders against everyone we care for, and watch every vein in my body turn red as I channel all the power in the Continent, and I would still love you.”
After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty. Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust. Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves, her dragons, her family, her home, and him. Even if it means keeping a secret so big, it could destroy everything. They need an army. They need power. They need magic. And they need the one thing only Violet can find, the truth. But a storm is coming…and not everyone can survive its wrath.
Ughhhh, anyone else have a hangover after this one??? I’m depressed now that I have to wait for the next book! I have so many theories that my head is exploding! I mean, how do you even review this book when it’s such utter perfection and fuels my addiction perfectly that I am craving for more? Xaden and Violet’s relationship just gets deeper, messier, and somehow even more freaking addictive and heart wrenching. The emotional devastation? Let’s just say I’ll be unpacking that for a while. Xaden was unreal in this book, the jealousy!!!!!! SCREAMING. Dain “eyes on me” Aetos?? Steam coming out of me! That was hot!
Of course this novel gets all the stars! I could break down every single word of this book and show my love for it, but you’ll just have to understand that this was perfection, and I just don’t have the time for that shit! My heart was pounding, my soul was screaming, and my brain is still trying to process everything that happened. I will 100% be rereading this! This book consumed me y’all. I was fighting for my life to finish it so I didn’t have to see spoilers that would make me go Jack Barlowe on random ass people. anyways, if you need me, I’ll be curled up in the fetal position & rereading the best moments of this masterpiece.
