Thirteen is a legal thriller that will have you racing through this book. The characters are masterfully planted in this book and the scene is so real that you feel like you could be sitting on the wooden bench in the courtroom watching it all go down.

The Serial Killer Isn’t On Trial.
He ‘s on the jury.

The premise of this one had me hooked right away. So we know who the killer is, but do we know exactly what is going on?!? Bobby Solomon, a renowned movie star, faces a murder charge following the deaths of his wife and security guard. Accused of the crime, Bobby’s defense team seeks the aid of Eddie Flynn, a lawyer renowned for his cunning and legal expertise due to his background as a con artist. Convinced of Bobby’s innocence, Eddie Flynn takes on the case. Little does he know, a serial killer named Kane has infiltrated the jury, setting the stage for a gripping legal thriller.

This story is told from two points of view, Eddie’s and Kane’s. As the trial begins, strange things start happening. Questions come up that make Eddie believe his client is innocent. But as he gains momentum, jurors have “accidents” and start dying. The twists in this one are so awesome! I love a good twist and this one delivers.

I felt like the only slightly unrealistic thing was that the 1st lawyer, Carp, dropped out and Eddie, who was a small time lawyer, did a better job than a lawyer with more resources. But Kane finally meet his match with Eddie and that was satisfying.

This is the 4th book in the series, but this is the first one I have read and won’t be the last. This can be read as a standalone. Just be prepared…..this book will make your head spin and your jaw drop in the best way.

  1. This was an okay book for me. 3.5 Stars. I liked it, I enjoyed it, I will easily forget about it. Do I regret reading it? No. Will I read more of this series? No. The book moves at a good pace, and there are many twists and revelations throughout. I was kept guessing for most of the time, which for me was great. It kept me interested in what was happening and although it wasn’t really too complex, it was tense. BUT, there were too many head scratching moments throughout the book that defied common sense, but it was interesting to the end. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind books that feel a little far fetched, you may enjoy this one more than I did.
