Hockey romance is my sweet spot… single dads are my kryptonite… and Tessa Bailey men are my Holy Grail. It had some serious elements, so many emotions, and such a positive story. Burgess was such a protective, sexy hero. I loved him from the start. He had the grumpy outer-shell, but was such a sweet marshmallow underneath. I loved how everyone was weirded out by him smiling. Tallulah was a little pricklier (for good reason) and I felt all the feels whenever she got protective of Burgess. Those scenes made me melt. Together they were fire. I think the stuff with his ex-wife and daughter was maybe a little underdeveloped/pushed aside, but otherwise this was a perfectly enjoyable book and will definitely give you your Bailey fix
4.5 star rating on this one for me. This was quirky, fun, sweet, hot, and will give you all the feels. Tessa can write wonderful mix of big feels, banter, lovable characters with a dash of angst. I can’t wait for the next book! Already intrigued by this couple. Recommended!
I agree that this was a 4.5 star read! I loved Burgess! Hot, sexy dad who is built like a muscled brick sh*t house….YES please! The steamy scenes were good. It was fun, but also serious. This was the right book at the right time for me. Tessa Bailey is becoming one of my favorite romance authors. This could be read as a stand alone or after Fan Girl Down. If you have read anything by Bailey and I liked it, you will like/love this one also!
