“It drives me batty to hear your generation going on and on and on about balance. There’s no life-work balance. Okay? Get it? It’s all life. You get the same twenty-four hours as the next girl. Fill yours with what you love.”
When a late season hurricane hits Merry, Connecticut, city manager and single dad Noah Yates has to inform the already devastated residents that there won’t be a Christmas Festival this year. No festival means no tourism dollars. A disaster of epic proportions for his hometown. But when home renovation expert slash smoking hot reality TV star Catalina King shows up with a camera crew and a budget big enough to put the town back together again, Noah balks. Hard. The last time Cat was in town she stirred up trouble everywhere she went. Noah doesn’t need a TV diva capitalizing on his town’s tragedy or filling his daughter’s head with glitz and glam. Cat is ready and willing to put Merry back in Christmas mode with a holiday special that will leave everyone believing in miracles and get her friends back in the home they love. But there’s one big problem standing in her way. And his name is Noah Yates. He’s wrong about her and she can’t wait to prove it. Ring those jingle bells because it’s on.
An adorable romcom with some spice, just as you would expect from Lucy Score. A cute, small town obsessed with Christmas mixed in with Chip and Joanna Gaines vibes makes for a super sweet holiday read. Although predictable, it’s just what you need for a light-hearted holiday story. Cat was so sweet, caring, & super badass. Noah I found a bit annoying at the beginning. His character starts out pretty judgmental of all things reality TV which got annoying after a while to me but he has a good character arc & I loved him by the end! I thought this was a cute Christmas story after they got it together. The town was full of adorable characters and I liked the coming-together-after-a-disaster storyline.
I gave this novel a four star rating. I enjoyed this more a lot more than the first book. This was a very cute and fun romance, perfect for the holiday season. I loved Cat from the beginning, but had trouble falling in love with Noah. He was the worst until he got over himself and then I enjoyed him. He was so mean to her and deserved every bit of attitude she threw him.
