This is the second book in The Housemaid series. I think this could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the first book before reading this one. This one is also a thriller, also has some of the same characters as book one, and also contains some great twists.
Millie is back to working as a maid. She gets let go from where she was working and gets a call from Mr. Garrick. He hires her to clean his penthouse, but tells her to never go in the guest room. He says his wife, Wendy is in there and is very sick and NOT to be disturbed. The Garrick’s live not far from her boyfriend, Brock. He’s a handsome lawyer, who knows nothing about her troubled past. She likes the idea of how perfect he is, if only he could compare to Enzo.
Things are going ok with the Garrick housekeeping gig, until she sees and hears things. She tries not to get involved. She needs this job but can she turn a blind eye to the things she’s discovered? Does she risk her job to help Wendy?
This premise sucked me in and kept me turning pages. The story is told in first person perspective, Millie being one character. This was so fast paced that I flew through this quickly. It’s very similar in style to her first book, but the twists are so head turning that it’s over right after it began. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good thriller.
