This is a romance for those HEA fans! I DETEST romance books that have sad or tragic endings so this one was right up my alley! This has a cool game show theme with a love story so if that’s your jam, you will LOVE this one.
Christina Lauren has brought back character, Fizzy (Felicity) Chen. She is a famous romance writer but is struggling with a case of writers block. Before her mental wall, she was a flirtatious, sexy on the prowl female who dated LOTS of the eligible men in the San Diego area code. But her writing has lost it’s swoony edge and she isn’t as interested in dating anymore. She realizes she has been in lust several times, but love….never.
Connor Prince is sitting in a bar and sees Fizzy and her friend having a drink and he can’t take his eyes off her. He thinks she is gorgeous. Connor is a documentary filmmaker and single dad who has just been told his career is going to go in a slightly different direction. Instead of his typical environment documentary, he will be producing a dating show.
The build up in The True Love Experiment was so exciting. I was hooked and listened to this book in under a day. I mean, I knew where it was going, but I didn’t know the route it would take to get there! Christina Lauren is an expert in her field. So far, this is my favorite book of hers. The characters had great chemistry. The pace was fast-moving. The game show set-up was fun, even though I never really watch reality TV, I got invested in how the show was going to turn out. Any romance fan will devour this one.
This is hands down my new favorite Christina Lauren book!! A MUST read for all romance fans and the perfect sequel to The Soulmate Equation. Ugh, Connor… I loved how sincere, caring, open and honest he was. The way he fell for Fizzy and appreciated her for her was perfection. Plus… single dad?? HELLLO!!! The grand gesture at the end! It was perfect and while it was easy to predict how the story would play out, it didn’t take away from the enjoyment whatsoever. If you are a romance reader, don’t even bother with my review. Just get your cute butt into your car, beeline to your nearest bookstore or library and grab this baby. This book is sexy, funny, and just downright delightful. I honestly cannot wait to see what Christina Lauren writes next.
