“I’m not broken anymore; I just don’t work the same. But there’s nothing wrong with being different.”

In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods.
Life after death isn’t easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost.
Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montana, the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors.
Horrors that I only unleash at night.
When my pigs are allowed to feast.

This was the perfect short story detailing Molly’s life during captivity and after for those of us who were wondering what happened to Molly. It’s got plot, it’s got hot af spice, an over the top possessive hero with a mouth that loves to do and say the yummiest things that I ate up. The story jumps from past to present detailing and filling in information that was missing. This book was lighter than Hunting Adeline but still filled with triggering items. Would have liked to know more about Cage. The man barely got any chapters from his point of view.

I gave this novel four stars. While overall, I really enjoyed this book, there were two small aspects that were a slight let down for me. First, the length of the book. I wanted more.…which ties right into the second aspect. I specifically wanted more of Molly’s past. Everything we got was fantastic, it was tragic, heartbreaking, and at times hard to stomach, but also so integral to who Molly is today and powerful in her redemption story. I just felt like there was still room to explore and show her past.
