IN HONOR OF OUR 100TH BOOK REVIEW WE HAVE DONE A SPECIAL AUTHOR INTERVIEW THAT IS INCLUDED BELOW WITH THIS REVIEW. THANKS SO MUCH TO OUR READERS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!!

The hardest part of being a professional swimmer should be the swimming … right?

This is the second book in the series. I don’t think you have to read Sink or Swim to read Below the Surface. Reiffenberger gives enough background that you won’t feel lost. This is a cross genre book. It is a murder-mystery crossed with a romance. It isn’t a heavy read, so if you’re in the mood for something quick and easy, this is for you.

This one starts out with Brody and Charlie getting settled into their lives together now that they have started dating seriously. Brody realized that Charlie was the one for him. Brody is recovering from his shoulder surgery from the calamity in the first book.

Just when things start getting back to normal, they get a new assistant coach, Ellie. And then, Davis, Landon’s dad, breaks out of prison. Brody and Charlie are worried he is after revenge. Charlie’s computer at work gets hacked and the suspicion in thrown in all directions. Who can be trusted? Is a friend a foe? Is a foe a friend? Will Davis be caught before anyone else is hurt???

I quickly turned pages until I reached the end. All I can say is, I’m excited to hear there is a third book coming out! Will we see certain characters again? I liked that each character was relatable. The swimming aspect was really unique. I don’t read many books centered on swimmers so this was a nice change. And the cross-genre is always a win. I recommend this for anyone likes a little romance with a mystery.
