How to Cheat Your Own Death is the third book in the Castle Knoll Murder Mystery series, and I loved this one just as much as the first two! This series continues to be such a fun read for me.
I’m always a sucker for a good dual timeline, and I loved moving between Frances in 1960s London and Annie in the present day. The connection between the two murders had me completely invested, and I loved watching the pieces from the past slowly come together with Annie’s investigation.
But let’s be honest about what I’m REALLY here for at this point—Annie and Detective Crane! Their partnership, their banter, and those very obvious feelings neither one of them seems ready to fully acknowledge…I am SO invested in these two! This book adds even more drama when the murder victim turns out to be Crane’s ex-girlfriend. There’s history, heartbreak, secrets, and plenty of tension, and I was eating it all up.
I love how this series balances the mystery with characters I’ve genuinely become attached to. Three books in, I’m just as excited about it as I was in the beginning—maybe even more so.
And THAT ENDING?! Seriously?! I need the next book ASAP!
