This is a kooky, cute vampire rom-com. This is Jenna Levine’s debut and she did an excellent job of entertaining me. This is a Flatshare meets Twilight type of book. Only much funnier and more ridiculous. This had me laughing so many times.

Cassie Greenberg is an artist who isn’t doing too well financially. She loves her art class at the library and has been applying for Art Teacher positions with no luck.

Frederick J. Fitzwilliam is a landlord who dresses and acts like a character from the regency era. He lives in an upper-class apartment in a nice area of town.

Frederick places a Craigslist ad for a roommate for only $200 a month. Cassie wonders what is wrong with the place or with Frederick since it is a nice area, but so affordable on her tiny budget. Surprisingly, Cassie was the only one to reply to the ad so he immediately offered her the room….on a few conditions. One, she is to NEVER go in his room. And Two, she is to NEVER open the closet door that is padlocked shut. Ya, not sketchy at all! But she is left with sleeping on her gay best friend’s couch or sleeping on the street. She has no choice since she is being evicted. So Cassie ignores all the red flags and moves in.

What she didn’t expect was that she was going to be attracted to the cute, weird guy. He writes her letters in nice handwriting and seals them with a seal stamp. They don’t often see each other since they have opposite hours. She never did find out what he did before she moved in. She just assumed some kind of doctor, with his strange hours and his old-school manners. When she meets his friend, Reginald, she finally learns the truth about Frederick. Will that be enough to scare her away??

This one was hilarious and ridiculous and I couldn’t stop reading it. Warning, there are open door scenes in this one. This was such a quick read but I highly enjoyed it. I can totally see this being a rom-com for the big screen. This was just the fun, light book I didn’t know I needed.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for sharing this highly entertaining DRC with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.
