Going Zero is the type of book that builds up in intensity as it goes along. I started out slightly interested in the premise and once I got through some of the minor background details, the story really took off. Of course, the twists really make you sit up and take notice as well. I would consider this a political thriller and this story would make for some great discussion also.

Ten people are randomly selected to test a spyware software called Fusion created by Cy Baxter. Baxter claims he can track anyone no matter where they are based on his technology. The point of the exercise for the 10 participants is that have 30 days to remain off the grid and undetected. If they are able to complete this feat, they win $3 million in cash. Each participant come to this with their own expertise of set of skills and excitement for this challenge. But to Kaitlyn Day, she has much more at stake than just the $3 million.

The parts where we got to see into each of the contestants was very interesting. It was funny to see how they all thought they could outsmart the technology. And the technology was another thing! That was another scary thing to consider. I hope that some of that doesn’t really exist!! It would be freaky to think if it did! Just think of all the ways you voluntarily let yourself be tracked with credit cards, apps, your cell phone, and then take your mind to some unbelievable places and that is where this book goes!

I loved how they portrayed Kaitlyn as this mild little librarian lady and then…..BAM…she isn’t what you think. I was expecting some twists but not like that.

If you like books about technology or if you like thrillers then this is for you!! By the end of the book, I was on the edge of my seat to find out what was going to happen. I think this is one I will be thinking about for a while.
