This is a book that isn’t my typical genre but I’m glad I gave this one a chance. This is a Newsies type romcom.

Nick Russo & Andy Fleming are characters that sucked me in right away. Nick is a reporter from Brooklyn but he is also a closet gay. It is the 50’s and he can’t let anyone know that he is gay. His family is huge and his brother is a cop so it would be dangerous for him to be found out. Andy is the son of a huge newspaper. He is engaged, but is he happy?

Andy met Nick in the newsroom after he agreed to work it for a year. Andy will be running the paper one day soon, even though he routinely gets lost on the way to work and can’t pay bills on his own. Andy is very helpless on his own. So when he and Nick start working together they immediately click. Nick shows Andy the ropes and befriends him. Then they start developing feeling for each other. Can they act of these feelings? It would be risky with Andy’s standing at the paper and Nick’s family.

This book was an interesting look at a different type of relationship. This was written so well and compassionately. I was able to empathize with Nick and Andy’s situation and I was always rooting for them. It was one I couldn’t put down. I received of copy of this book as an ARC from the publisher and author and I thank them for the opportunity to read this. I just wish I would have read this one sooner.
