I am on my way to becoming a Meghan Quinn “completionist” so of course I had to pick up this steamy romance.

I liked the premise of Hattie’s story. After her sister dies she fails out of grad school and comes home to Almond Bay. She goes to her boyfriend’s house and is then broken up with. And this is a boyfriend who she doesn’t even really like so it’s no great loss. Buuuut…she discovers he has stolen some memorabilia from his boss who is also a famous rock star, Hayes. Hayes is back in town because he is burnt out and looking for inspiration. Little did he know it would fall on his doorstep in the form of Hattie.

Hayes ends up blackmailing her into working for him but Hattie has to keep it a secret from her brother because he hates Hayes. So Hattie ends up trying to get closer to her remaining siblings, while keeping the secret of working for Hayes. Hattie and Hayes have some chemistry but Hattie has to repair her relationship with her brother first.

I think their “will they or won’t they” played out a little longer than I would have liked, but this was another spicey one from Quinn and the intensity was there. I always like an enemies to lovers trope with a forced proximity thrown in. And Quinn is the queen of witty banter. There were laugh out loud moments in this one, even though it could get serious at times. Cute characters, with spicey plot!
