First off, I went into this one thinking it was going to be a super spicy, enemies to lovers, close quarters romance. It… sorta…. was?? To me, this would like a one level spice, slow burn. The story was good and entertaining, but it almost felt like the author was super new and didn’t go into too much depth and it felt like a lot of the suspense fell flat. I felt waiting for it to get super juicy, but it was barely R rated. Those notes aside, it was a quick cute read for me. Felt me entertained and I did like the main male character a lot. I would have loved to have a chapter or two from his point of view.
I gave this novel a 3.5 star rating. I think this book would be best for someone about 18-22 which is not me. Some of the themes and the main female character’s decision making just felt a little too young for me. The ending felt a bit surprising at moments, but I don’t think it was necessarily bad! Just a little different than I anticipated.
