This was our February Book Club pick and it was definitely one of a kind. I have not read anything like this before. It was supposed to be a dark romantic comedy, and I ate it up. Two serial killers finding romance?? It sounded so good that I had a hard time believing it could turn out to be anything other than amazing. This book was so hilarious and so much fun. I know they’re serial killers and there’s a lot of blood and gore but I adored the romance and even laughed out loud at times. It’s a very original story, and regardless of all the trigger warnings, it’s actually incredibly fun and comical.
I gave this one a four star rating. It was a delight – a weird, fucked up delight. The only reason I stopped it a star was because I did think there was some backstory that was missing. I wanted more history on how they came to be where they are in life. I basically wanted more! I will be continuing on with this series and am excited for the next book to come out! Also…. I’ll never look at cookies and cream ice cream the same.
