This is a cozy fantasy novel. I went into this one knowing nothing and was unsure what to think and ended up liking this cute story about found family.
The MC, Viv, gives up her battling lifestyle and opens a coffee shop/bakery. But old and new rivals stand in the way of success — not to mention the fact that no one has the faintest idea what coffee actually is. The city of Thune gets their first coffee shop and Viv gets to make new friends.
This one has a little mystery and some found family themes. The characters are quirky and I don’t even know how to begin to describe this one. There are orcs and gnomes and the world this author builds is so unique and interesting. I just never knew where this story was going to go. I can see why this one got so much hype. It’s definitely unique. And a book with a coffee shop is a win for me.
