I’ve had Quicksilver sitting on my shelf for a while, and honestly, I’m not sure what took me so long to dive in—because wow, this one lives up to the hype. It’s a slow start, but only because the world building is that good. Callie Hart takes her time introducing the unforgiving desert, the icy world of Yvelia, and the magic that binds them, and it’s so worth it.
“For those who live their nightmares so that others may have their dreams.”
At first, I was a little intimidated by the book’s size, but once I got going, I flew through it. The pacing picks up fast, especially once Saeris, our secretive, magic-wielding thief, accidentally opens a gateway between realms and ends up stuck with Kingfisher—the grumpy Fae warrior with a murky past and major enemies-to-lovers energy. Their dynamic was one of my favorite parts of the story.
I will say the characters felt a bit immature at first, but I think that was intentional. Watching them grow and evolve made their arcs so much more satisfying, and by the end, I really came to care for them. If you’re a fan of Romantasy, high-stakes magic, and slow-burn relationships that actually pay off, Quicksilver is definitely worth picking up. Now that I’ve finished it, I’m already counting down the days until the next book releases in fall 2025—I need more of this world and these characters!
