I have been on a mission to be a Meghan Quinn completionist and so I had to add this one. I listened to this one on audio since it had the male character with the great accent. I’d say this one isn’t my favorite by Quinn, but this was still a cute story with her signature spice. This is the grumpy hero and enemies to lovers trope.

This had a premise that drew me in right away. Bonnie and Dakota travel to Scotland after applying for a job at a little coffee shop in a small town there. They both had a reason for wanting to escape LA. The owners leave the girls in charge with their son, Rowan, who is also the local handyman, in the wings to help if they should need it.

The first half of the story was really good and had me, but then Bonnie kind of annoyed me and Dakota’s character veered off in a strange way. I wasn’t sure what the point of it all was, but in the end, it came together. Some of the middle drama was a little unnecessary, but I still like the bulk of this book.

The Scottish setting was a plus. The side characters were funny and entertaining. A coffee house setting is always a win for me. I only wish this could have had some of the middle cut out. The characters had some severe development in this one though.
