Sometimes, the worst day of your life happens, and you have to figure out how to live after it.

The premise of this one hooked me right away. Is is possible to fall for a man who lives seven years in the past?? Picture finding the perfect person at the most inconvenient time. (The song ISN’T IT IRONIC kept playing in my head!!) What if the universe throws in extra obstacles to thwart your happy ending? And what if, in the present, you encounter the same man, but he’s not quite the person you fell for, and you’re not the same woman, despite having just met?

Welcome to a mind-bending, intricate, and clever read where you’ll need to piece together numerous puzzle pieces for the full experience! Ashley Poston delivers another intelligent, heartwarming, and epic paranormal romance featuring lovable characters and a magical apartment.

Meet Clementine, aka Lemon, is a quirky, artistic, lost workaholic who’s grieving the loss of her aunt and best friend. Together, they traveled the world, discovering that magic is real. Clementine spent her childhood in her aunt’s magical apartment, a place capable of shifting through time—seven years forward or backward—to reunite people across different eras. As she grows older, skepticism replaces her belief in her aunt’s stories, until her passing leaves Clementine as the new owner of the apartment and a firsthand witness to its magic.

Returning to the apartment, Clementine encounters a charming stranger with a Southern accent named Iwan. Despite her initial urge to kick him out, she soon realizes she’s the one out of sync in time, not him.

Iwan, a dishwasher but aspiring chef, enchants Clementine with his cooking, dancing, and unforgettable kiss before vanishing the next day.

Determined to find the man who captured her heart, Clementine discovers that the present-day Iwan is closer than she imagined. But will she lose her chance at true love forever, or can she navigate the complexities of time to find the right moment?

This complex and witty tale weaves a unique bond between aunt and niece, exploring themes of timing, second chances, self-discovery, and love’s resilience. The poignant epilogue left me both tearful and sighing with contentment. This is for fans of her previous work “Dead Romantics.” I was totally caught up with this one and loved the magical realism that gave me all the feels.
