This book was an absolute roller coaster of emotions—in the best way.
From the start, Dolly All the Time gave me major Pretty Woman vibes, but with a fresh, heartfelt twist that felt completely its own. Dolly is a single mom and kindergarten teacher who returns home for the summer to help her dad after some unexpected house damage…only to quite literally run into Stewart Whitfield, a wealthy (and annoyingly handsome) local dealing with a very public breakup.
What starts as a simple act of kindness—helping him change a tire—quickly spirals into a viral misunderstanding and, ultimately, a mutually beneficial arrangement. Stewart needs a relationship to maintain his image and secure a promotion, and Dolly needs a way to come up with $50K to fix her family home. Enter the proposition.
But what really makes this story shine is the heart behind it.
Dolly is fiercely independent in a way that makes total sense given her past, and watching her slowly open herself up to relying on someone else felt so real and earned. The chemistry between her and Stewart builds beautifully, moving from convenience to something much deeper through quiet moments, public appearances, and those soft, intimate in-between scenes.
This book is full of characters you can’t help but root for, and by the end, I was completely invested. It delivers a truly satisfying HEA—the kind you want to hug when you finish (and yes, I absolutely would have hugged the book if I had a physical copy).
I genuinely think this is one of Annabel Monaghan’s best. If you’ve enjoyed her work before, this is a must-read. And if you love authors like Abby Jimenez, this one will absolutely hit that same emotional sweet spot.
Thank you to NetGalley and G.P. Putnam’s Sons for this sweet and heartfelt romance eARC.
