Neon Gods is the story of Persephone and Hades. This was a spicy retelling of a timeless story. I enjoyed the spice and romance in this one.

He was supposed to be a myth.
But from the moment I crossed the River Styx and fell under his dark spell… he was, quite simply, mine.

This one started with a great premise! I loved the Greek references, even though I’m not super familiar with them, this one was fun.

Persephone was brought to a party by her mother, Dimitriou, and surprised with an engagement to Zeus. The only problem is that the last few wives of Zeus have been murdered or died. So Persephone wasn’t too excited about this engagement, and even fears for her life. So she decides to flee the party, that is taking place at Zeus’ building, with just what she has on her. She makes a run for it outside the building when she see someone is following her.

She gets to the River Styx and ends up crossing it, right into the arms of Hades. She didn’t even know he was real earlier. She has been a bit obsesses with Hades since no one will say much about him. Hades protects her and they come to an agreement on how to make Zeus pay.

This one is VERY open door so be aware of that. There are a few scenes that go into detail and get steamy with “public sex” scenarios. But this was essentially a love story, with lots of spice. I did like this one, but this is one where there was the “insta-love” trope as well. I sometimes find those hard to believe but I still enjoyed the story.
