Evie Porter has everything a nice, Southern girl could want: a perfect, doting boyfriend, a house with a white picket fence and a garden, a fancy group of friends. The only catch: Evie Porter doesn’t exist.

If you’re looking for a fast-paced thriller that you can’t put down, you need to read this one right now!

The MC, Evie Porter, appearing as a typical Alabama girl, finds herself in what seems like a perfect scenario with a charming man who rescued her from distress. They have what seems like this meet cute and get close and then decide to move in together. They plan to live in her dream house, complete with a white picket fence and a serene environment. However, things take a drastic turn when Ryan’s troubled friend, struggling with alcoholism and financial woes, arrives with his new girlfriend, Lucca Marino. A name that Evie recognizes right away!! Suddenly, Evie’s carefully constructed world collapses as she realizes her true identity could be exposed at any moment. Her purpose in this suburban idyll isn’t romance with Ryan but surveillance of his illegal activities during his mysterious Thursday disappearances.

Evie needs to uncover who is this mysterious woman is that is claiming her true identity and echoing Evie’s life story under the guise of Lucca? Could her employer, Mr. Smith, have sent her to disrupt Evie’s life, or is there a more sinister plot at play? Who can she trust? Does it have something to do with one of her previous jobs?

This was a great cat and mouse thriller that I speed through. The characters were interesting and kept me on my toes. I initially guessed who Mr. Smith was, but then dismissed the thought and moved on to the next suspect only to be shocked, but not shocked in the end. I loved the flashbacks to her previous jobs where we got to know Lucca’s history and more about her character. Throughout the book, I didn’t know where this was going. This was definitely a 5 star thriller for me!
